Vidatak launches iPad app VidaTalk with funding support from the National Institutes of Health
Nonvocal patients can now access Vidatak’s interactive, multi-lingual communication tool on their personal iPad or iPad provided by the hospital caring for them. The technology is an NIH funded, research-based, Augmentive and Alternative Communication solution designed for the iPad.
Vidatak partners with Italian hospitals to improve patient communications
Through a partnership between the Community of Milano, Italy governance and Centro Benedetta D'Inino (CBD'I) of Milano, John Costello of Children's Hospital Boston was invited to do a full day workshop for medical staff and administrators representing hospitals throughout Italy entitled:
Augmentative Communication and the Communication Vulnerable Patient: Enhancing Quality of Care and Reducing Risks of Medical Error
To support every hospital in Italy to better meet the needs of patients who are communication vulnerable, CBD'I provided the Vidatak Picture Communication Board to every delegate of the workshop. In addition, Vidatak Picture Communication Boards with Italian text were directly forwarded to hospitals unable to send delegates.
