Through a partnership between the Community of Milano, Italy governance and Centro Benedetta D'Inino (CBD'I) of Milano, John Costello of Children's Hospital Boston was invited to do a full day workshop for medical staff and administrators representing hospitals throughout Italy entitled:

Augmentative Communication and the Communication Vulnerable Patient: Enhancing Quality of Care and Reducing Risks of Medical Error

To support every hospital in Italy to better meet the needs of patients who are communication vulnerable, CBD'I provided the Vidatak Picture Communication Board to every delegate of the workshop. In addition, Vidatak Picture Communication Boards with Italian text were directly forwarded to hospitals unable to send delegates.
